Precision Mold Anti-Wear Design: Extended Mold Lifespan for Long-Term Mass Production
Wear failure is the main cause of precision mold scrapping. In long-term high-cycle injection molding, sliding parts, parting surfaces and molding edges are continuously worn by friction and impact, leading to gradual precision loss of the precision mold. Professional anti-wear structural design and surface reinforcement can significantly extend mold service life and reduce long-term production costs.
We add systematic anti-wear optimization in the design and manufacturing stage of each precision mold. By using wear-resistant materials, strengthening vulnerable structures and optimizing friction coordination, we greatly improve the anti-wear performance of molds, realizing ultra-long service life for mass production molds.
Problems Caused by Lack of Anti-Wear Mold Design
Molds without anti-wear optimization will suffer from edge collapse, surface wear and gap enlargement after long-term operation. Slider wear causes unsmooth movement and mold jamming; parting surface wear leads to continuous flash; core edge wear causes product size deviation. These problems make the precision mold lose stability and require frequent repair and polishing.
Frequent mold maintenance not only affects production progress, but also causes accumulated precision loss after repeated disassembly, greatly shortening the overall service life of the mold.
Our Multi-Dimensional Anti-Wear Mold Optimization
In precision mold manufacturing, we select high-wear-resistant mold steel for frequently moving and easily worn parts, and conduct vacuum heat treatment to improve substrate hardness. Key sliding positions are equipped with independent wear-resistant plates to protect the main mold structure and reduce direct friction loss.
We optimize the friction gap and contact area of moving parts to avoid rigid friction and dry friction. For long-term high-cycle molds, we add nitriding, hard oxidation and other surface strengthening treatments to form a dense wear-resistant protective layer on the mold surface.
Economic Benefits of Long-Life Precision Molds
Anti-wear optimized precision mold effectively delays precision attenuation, reduces mold repair and replacement frequency, and extends mold service life by more than 30%. It greatly reduces factory mold investment cost and production downtime loss, bringing long-term stable economic benefits for mass production enterprises.
